Meeting 2004
These
are the main points from the AGM
1)
Some changes have been made to the Association's rules, please
read them once you have purchased your permit. It is your responsibility
to ensure that you are conversant with the Association's rules.
2)
There was a marked decrease in the sale of permits last year,
the Committee would like to ask all members past and present to
make an effort to purchase a permit this year so as to secure
the future of the Association and also to ensure that the price
of the permit can be kept as low as possible. If you have friends
that live outside the Association's catchment area, there is a
concessionary permit available to them to allow them to fish the
Association's waters - for more information please contact the
Secretary.

Because of the decline in membership last year there is a slight
increase in the price of the permits for this year. Adults- £65,
Concession- £65, Pensioner- £40, 12 to 16 years- £25,
under 12 years- £10
4)
In order to promote more usage of the boats on Llyn Ogwen an evening
ticket is to be introduced which will be available from 4:00 p.m.
at a cost of £2.50 . Full day tickets will still be available
for £5.00.
i) Priority will be given to those purchasing a full day ticket
ii) Pre booking of evening tickets can only be done after 1:00p.m.
on the day.
5) Every adult purchasing a permit will receive one free evening
boat ticket for Llyn Ogwen. The ticket will
be printed on the front of the permit.
i) Pre booking of a boat with the free ticket will not be allowed.
ii) Priority will be given to those purchasing a ticket.
iii)The free ticket may only be used once. The ticket will be
signed at Ogwen Falls café when you collect
the key for the boat to show that the ticket has been used.

The buoyancy aids that were available for use with the boats have
been removed since they were no longer compliant with the current
standards, it is the responsibility of the individual to ensure
that they have suitable life jackets with them before venturing
onto the boats.

Thomas Alfred Cup
The Thomas Alfred cup for the heaviest fish caught in the river
during last season was won by Gwyn Jones with a salmon of 14lb.
12oz.
Stocking
It is planned to stock Llyn Ogwen during the last week of the
following months -
April, May, June, July and August.
2004
Here is a list of the main activities that were undertaken during
the year -
1) The Boats - repairs made to the boats and the boathouse.
2) Weed growth in Llyn Ogwen - attempts were made to control the
weed growth in the margins by the
slates, the Committee is currently in consultation with the Countryside
Council for Wales and the
Environmental Agency in an effort to improve the situation.
3)
Llyn Dan Cob - substantial maintenance work has been undertaken
in this are with a new replacement
weir constructed, due to the many floods that occurred during
the late summer the work was not
completed, this will hopefully be completed this year along with
work at Llyn Wern and Llyn John
Hughes.
4) A promise has been secured to provide access to disabled anglers
at Llyn Ogwen, this work is planned for this year.
Committee
There are some vacancies on the Committee, if you are interested
