1. 2005 Annual General Meeting
Here are the main point from the 2005 AGM
1) The new Environment Agency byelaws are now in
force.
In these byelaws the salmon season has been extended to 31 October.
Fishing after 17 October is confined to between Halfway Bridge
and Brynbella Bridge.
All fish caught must be returned to the river as quickly as possible.
It was agreed in the AGM that fly would be the only method allowed
after 17 October.
2) It was agreed to raise the permit prices by £1
for the following to, Adults- £66, Concessionary- £66,
Pensioner- £41.
Junior permit prices will remain the same as last year, 12 to
16 years old- £25, under 12- £10.
3) There was a significant increase in the use of
the boats last year. In order to try and create further interest
amongst members it was agreed that the free evening ticket would
be made available again this year, the rules for the use of the
ticket remain the same as last year.
i) Pre booking of a boat with the free ticket will not be allowed.
ii) Priority will be given to those purchasing a boat ticket.
iii) The free ticket may only be used once. The ticket will be
signed at Ogwen Falls café to show that it
has been used when you collect the key for the boat.

- Hedd Roberts.
Fly 16 and under - No competitors.

We would like to thank Alan Davies for the junior cash prizes.
5. Stocking
Stocking at Llyn Ogwen should take place during the last week
of the following months -
April, May, June, July and August.
The Committee receives complaints annualy about anglers catching
and keeping more than the bag limit of 4 at Llyn Ogwen, but no
one has been willing to name those responsible, therefore it has
not been possible to do much about it. Members of the Committee
will endeavour to monitor the situation this year and will be
visiting the lake at key times. The Committee members have the
right to see an anglers permit and to see what that angler has
caught.
6. Use of Boats
A request was received from one of our newer members for tuition
in the safe handling of boats, how best to get the boats out and
back in to the boathouse, where the dangers are in the lake (sub
surface rocks). If this would be of interest to you, contact the
Secretary, and we will arrange an afternoon or evening meet at
the boathouse.
7. Spinning Marks
A number of the spinning marks have become illegible or inconsistent.
New marks will be placed at the
following locations along the river. Pont y Twr, Llyn Afon Ganol
(top end of the football field), Pont yr Inn
(behind Arafa Don flats), Pont Sarnau (behind the rugby field),
Brynbella, Llyn Dderwen Gam, Llyn Ddol and Cafn. The intention
is to use stainless steel plates. Spinning will not be allowed
when the water level is below the bottom edge of these plates,
except for the period 8 - 17 of October, when spinning will be
allowed when the water level is below the plates, provided that
no hook larger than a size 4 is used with the lure. By mid April
there will be a detailed map of the river with pool names on the
website, spinning mark locations will be incorporated into the
map.
